Me so lazy !

I haven’t blog about either me or my hamster for quite a while now.

Laziness is definitely the main factor here 😦

I thought about blogging about my travelling expereience and some random thoughts, but then being lazy didn’t help and for random thoughts, mine are never politically correct to talk about haha

So things on my mind now,

1. Phoebe the lazy hamster is still very lazy, 1.5 years old now

2. National Library Board , NLB’s moronic move toward children books. Child who read will grow up to be the adult who think. So, mind control , maybe haha

Conventional family my **&&, I define family as loving people co-exist, co-habit and support each other. Snobbish ! Nevermind, not very pc to talk about.

3. Crochet crazy, thinking about crocheting Bob Marley Rasta hat for bro.

And I really want to make a scrapbook for my crochet momento. Need to buy a book first.

4. Travelling again, this time to Ipoh, Malaysia. And I will visit the Ipoh’s yarn and handicrafts shops , hope they offer wide selections of things with economic price.

From Chiang Mai, with loves !

I’ve never been to Chiang Mai >.<

Dream about going there, feel the cool weather, hop the elephant’s back and eat awesome Chiang Mai Sausages . Last week my sis and a groups of friends travel to Chiang Mai as a leisure trip. So full of everything with my real life  ( actually mean crappy busy ) all I can do is whine and ask her to buy presents for me.

True to her words, I got a lots of prezies. Yay!

My fav is Herb Basic brands skin care products. Smell heavenly and very unique . The ingredients are mostly vegetable based glycerin, beeswax , rice bran oil, and some particular flower or fruit oil.

Left to right ( back role)

1. Cherry hand cream.

2. Body cream ( Frangipani flower )

3.Honey Balm

4.Body cream ( Sai Yud flower)

5.Body Powder ( Sai Yud flower)

6. Revlon nail polish, ( just because they are cheap and my fav brand of nail polish )

Front role, water melon flavor lip balm, strawberry and watermelon yogurt soaps.

Books , a pretty cotton pouch and a pink leather phone pendent.

Kinky Friedman, man-oh-man….the moment I saw Kinky Friedman’s book, I want to kiss my sis. He is so damn  funny and witty. Never seen his books in singapore before, and I am hunting one for quite a long time. According to my sis, Chiang Mai has a lots of old book store and a lots more fancy than singapore book stores.

Another book ” Cool Dead Man ” is also an interesting book. Its an obituary book, never think I would own a books of obituaries about people I don’t know . Anyway! they are cool , so its ok 🙂

Although I am stuck in singapore while my sis enjoy awesome getaway , I am a happy camper now .

Thank you big sis! ❤

Scabber go to beach =]

My family decided to go to Woodland Water Front Park and have a picnic and a stroll. So, we pack up a few cans of juices,   sandwiches, hot dogs and my hand made sushi . I decided to bring Scabber together with us, so that he can have some fresh air and new environment . Meeting with new people will do some good for my skittish little boy.

He was very excited at first, scatter around in his pink carrier and sniff and sniff and sniff. He did hate the ride, I think the car engine sound and the speed make him nervous. When we reach the park, I let him around on the grass and on the beach. He seem very curious , I am very happy to go out together with him. Until I saw some doggies are walking our way, cute as they are but I am afraid that if they bark or growl suddenly , my Scabber will be scare. So, we stay clear of the doggies’ way 😛

Scabber and his interesting expression !!!!

Foodzzzz.

Jetty, wild willowy weeds , water and a gloomy weather .

Cooking, Relaxing and Family Times !

How Bachelors Cook – or Not

Two confirmed bachelors sat talking. Their conversation drifted from politics to cooking. ‘I got a cook book once’, said the first, ‘but I could never do anything with it.’

‘Too much fancy cooking in it, eh?’ asked the second. ‘You said it. Every one of the recipes began the same way – ‘Take a clean dish and…’

Cheesy joke 😀  Cooking can be a nightmare for some, but a relaxing pass time for me. The first 19 years of my bratty life, I never try anything more than a fry egg in the kitchen. My mom is a great cook and she really love to cook and feed us. After my siblings go abroad to study, her main focus is on me and she mostly cook whatever I like to eat. So, I get fat LOL j/k . She always complain that I am very choosy, yeah..I use to hate spicy food, oily food, red meat and sour soups ( very common and loved myanmar dish) But as I grew older, I get bolder . Eat out together with friends, try new cuisine, as the world become narrower I international food become less exotic.

I pick up my passion in cooking around 4 years ago. As I move out and trying to start new chapter of my life, I try to adapt to the new environment as quickly as I can, try everything to stand on my own. No more breakfast waiting for me every morning, no more packed lunch box near my bag, no more warm dinner on the table at night, drinks, fruits and snacks will not be magically sitting there just because I open the fridge door. Haizzzz If I want to eat any home cook meal, its on me from groceries shopping to cleaning up after the meal. Tough! But I learn things as I go. Not only my dear siblings but also my friends agreed that I have a flair for cooking. Now my hobby include of collecting cook books and watching cooking shows .

For everyday meals, I batch up some easy chinese and myanmar dishes or simple pasta or macaroni soups. For lunch box, I love to pack fry rice ( quick, easy and need to wash only one pan) so I fry rice in many different styles. I occasionally put my heart in some complex dishes that take times and work for special occasion like birthdays, new years or some holidays especially family times. Although we didn’t celebrate Christmas at home( do have fun with friends outside), my brother get his Christmas mood on and bought a very nice Black Forest Ham ( a whole thigh ). I am too lazy to do anything more specials, so decided to make some steam veggie, whipped potatoes and gravy to go with it. Dinner is a success , accompanied by sparkling grape juice and white wine that my sister received as Christmas present .

Baked ham, little gravy jar and mozzarella cheese !

White wine and appetizer( melted cheddar cheese and tomatoes paste on taco wrap )  come up

Here come the sparkling grape juice.

Finally whipped potatoes and steam veggie to complete the meal. Yes, the red heart is my mom LOLz, she don’t look very happy because my dad is busy and can’t join us for dinner.

This is easy, only gravy need times to prepare. Whipped potatoes is simply delicious and chilled white wine really goes well. The problem is only between me and my brother, I drink a little more than half of a bottle of  wine. I haven’t touch any alcohol for a while now, its like newbie again and I was drunk after dinner ROFLMAO….while we have pudding for dessert , I was already talking silly . After talking silly, curse at some unidentified objects, laugh at some people for a while…my light out, sprawl on bed and sleep it off. Funny and crazy night. I rarely get drunk, I can drink to the limit and always stop at that. I hate to see myself as talkative, lame joking, cursing, silly chit and I turn into one if I get drunk.

Well, need to wise up with that.

And I am going to make BBQ and hot pot for new year eve and ticking groceries list start from now .

Wheat Grass! Whole new level for a noobie!

Wheat Grass, they are just very attractive and interesting.

I have been dreaming about growing wheat grass for awhile, mainly because their aesthetic look really please me. Green patch of grass and their upright green shoots are their attractive appeal. I do like to drink the wheat grass juice mix with apple juice, only commercial drinks from the supermarket of course. Juicing wheat grass myself seem like a little far fetch for me, but I would love to give a pot of young wheat grass to each of my hamsters.

First, I read up about germinating wheat grain and growing process. Predictable huh? My habit is to read first, do later 😛 sproutspeople.org is my fav website to do read up about sprouting. Their steps by steps guide, comprehensive videos and pictures are very helpful for noobie like me. Baby steps, baby steps!!! First step is to obtain unpolish wheat grain and believe me its a real bitch to find any sort of those products in Singapore. Organic products aisle in NTUC is my only option, and I too busy to go to Cuppage Plaza( Organic Paradise) to buy better choices of organic goodies. Maybe one day……LOL

First , I bought the unpolish organic wheat grain . Its a trusted brand and cost me S$ 4.90. Quite expensive for small little bag of grain *_*

Clean under running tap water thoroughly, and soak them in water. I use colander because it is much simpler and easy to wash and drain.

Its after 12 hours. I soak them overnight, but I have a habit of waking up 1 or 2 times at night , so easy for me to change the water . The grains are starting to germinate and I can see the tiny little sprouts coming out from the place that is suppose to be germ. Tiny but its a good start.

After another 12 hours. Water the is a bit cloudy by the time I hit home. The tiny sprouts become more prominent, this is the sign of new life .

I am overjoy to see adorable sprouts spruce out of my grains 😀 This is after 12 more hours. I feed a spoonful to each of my kids, they sure love it .

I decided to try two ways in growing my grass, one will be just like the way they show in sproutpeople.org. Spread the grains on baby clothes and water every 12 hours( I might be watering them every 8 hours though) . I don’t have any baby clothes or coconut fiber , so I just use dish washer . LOLOL Crazy substitute , but I decided the most important function is to absorb the water very well and give breathing room for the roots. So here it is, and I will be covering the grain for maybe one or two more they until the young grass prominently emerge.

For the leftover sprouts, I just spread them on rich soil in the pot. Will be watering them 2 times a day. I just wish to experience the patch of green grass coming out under the bright of the sunlight.

Now we wait.

I will be updating this post as my grass grows !

There is a big difference between the little ones inside my kitchen , and the little one outside my corridor . The later get enough sunlight and nutrients from rich soils, all the green shoots are as pretty as it can be. The little ones inside the kitchen are still white little sprouts , but I am still hopeful for them to become taller and give some lights to let them photosynthesis.

I took these pics this morning under sunlight .

New lives, youngling plants and happiness !

I have been trying to sprout various seeds for awhile. Finally , successful in sprouting Flaxseed. I try to read up about flax plant and quite a beautiful plant . I am going to feed some sprouts to my kids and grow some into flowering, seed bearing plants . Flax is an erect annual plant growing to 1.2 m (3 ft 11 in) tall, with slender stems. So that will be ideal for my little potted plants zone. It will bear pretty shade of blur flower, and I can’t wait for my little sprouts to grow up 🙂

This is the sample picture of flax flower.

These are my younglings . Hope they will grow up in no time .

I am also quite happy with my plants , that I seen other plants also have various younglings and new shoot coming out.

Little new plants of mama Jade Plant.

Baby Purslane , cute cute cute !!!

Tiny little Aloe Vera coming out of the big stem. Big, medium and tiny ones……like one big family !

Cute fiddleheads of my Christmas Fern. With HDB background, too singapore? Haha I ahve a hard time trying to identified the correct species of this fern. Finally , I can confirmed that my fern is Christmas Fern. Too many species of fern liao…I got confuzzle >.<

Next, I tried to move some the new plants into little pots in my dinning room. I have Prickly Pears and Succulent in the pots but due to lack of sunlight..they give up on me. Now I decided that since the Jade plant and Purslane don’t really need sunlight , they should go inside the dinning room . Now they are hanging around at the dinning room window .

Treats for me and my hams!!!

Today’s treats for my hams was carrot . I cut them into bite size cubes for them ❤ Clumsy me have an accident again, now Scabber’s bowl have a chip on the lid . I accidentally knock it while washing. I decided there is no real harm and just a little bit ugly, so no new bowl for him yet. This bowl is such a good size for him, so he will have to use this bowl until I find one that I really like .

Scabber with his carrot cubes

Ke Ke’s adorable eating poise.

Crazy gal De De refuse to eat her carrot and keep playing with her swing 😦

Well, treats for me is presents from my sister 🙂 Nuts and dry fruits. Super yummy 😛  She got me Pumpkin Seeds, Dry Figs, Dry Guava, Dry Strawberry and Dry Apple chips . Best sister everrrrr. I will have to take a lots of time to finished all of these.  I am thinking about sharing some of them with my hams too, except from Dry Guava because its ingredient include SO2. Strawberry and apple are freeze dry without any chemicals or flavor adding and Dry Fig is naturally sun dry. All have natural high sugar content , so I will give them tiny pieces each to enjoy ! nom nom nom ^0^

Garden Gnomes !!!!!!!!!!

Gnomes!! Cute? Creepy? or Racist?

Crazy huh? I was always fascinated by Gnomes and their lore. I find them both funny and creepy at the same time. Who would connect them with racism, well …a lots actually 😀 You can find some of the most famous stories about the racist Gnomes in this link  and this link . I find this quite over react, but there were a lots of controversy in Garden Gnomes and Lawn Jockey . Can argue until next winter, nothing change……..they are just funny little statues of old guys with pointy hat that you put in your garden for your amusement .

Garden Gnomes are of German origin and one of my fav episodes of South Park is also a Gnomes episode. The very famous Gnome profit plan 😀 😀

This weekend, I wandered off to Daiso to take a look at fancy junks and can’t control my itchy hands…bought 3 little Gnomes. They are just so cute ❤ Well, I am proud that they are also useful …..the purpose is same as clay pot irrigation . Pour the water into the lil Gnomes and stick it in the flower pot. The water will slowly leak into the soil. Quite a good technique actually….. These are the 3 lil guys, should I name them? nah!!! too creepy -_-

Well, they also got a place in respective pot. Blue hat go inside my Sawtooth Coriander pot.

Red hat got a place inside my jade plant pot.

Yellow hat look super adorable among my Ginger Plants.

My brother and sister also think they are just so cute. I am also glad that they spic up my dull little garden. Let see how will they last !

Potted Plants!

Since I live in an apartment without any front or back garden, the only plants I can grow now are potted plants. I use to have small garden back home in yangon complete with Roselle Plants( famous for stir fry and soup, sour in taste ,very popular dish in myanmar), a few herb shrubs, small aloe vera  plants, lemongrass bush and colorful kiss-me-quick flower. My mom was also very supportive of the garden because some of them are very useful in the kitchen 🙂  Since it was a town house, the garden is not much in size but I really love my small garden. Sometimes my dad help to clean out the weeds but since he is always busy, I end up doing most of the work.

When I move in to this home, I decided to grow some potted plants for leisure , don’t wish to plant big shrubs hence that can become nuisance to my neighbor family. So I start with two one succulent , one mini prickly pear on my dining room window. And a red chili plant, a bush of mint leaves and a pot of saw tooth coriander.Yes, all spice shrubs =] and tiny pink rose.

Last december, my parents come and visit us. My dad bring along some baby plants and help me to upgrade my garden2.0 complete with pathetic potted plants LOL.After that, look a lot better . I really love to grow saw tooth coriander leaves, because they are my fav herb. I love to cook  fish soup garnish with these YUMMY! Last week I tried to grow some lavender bush, bought a packet of seeds from gardening section at Giant and decide to try anyway. Well, that was a failure but I don’t have high hope for this  either . Well, this is a tiny garden in front of my apartment right now.

I have aloe vera, ginger, succulent, saw tooth coriander, and evergreen fern. To the truth ,I don’t really care about my plants anymore since my hamsters come into my life. Barely manage to water them everyday before I go out. My sister sometimes help me to water these plants but she also forgot some days. I think I will wait for my dad to come and visit us again, am sure he will help me to tidy up my little plants.

The beginning.

Well, I started this blog to keep the memories of my hamsters and improve my writing skill. Its been so long since I write a good essay and lordy , my grammar suck big camel balls. So,here it is !
My brain fart, my crazy lame ass sense of humor and my adorable hamsters.
